Tony Rides the Grand Illinois Trail*23-28 September 2002 |
|
I rode my trusty bicycle a bit over 500 miles in five and half days following, more or less, the Grand Illinois Trail. I took some pictures along the way and have plopped them on this site in the hope that you might enjoy them You can go directly to any of the images listed on this page by clicking on the image. HOWEVER, the images are arranged in chronological order, so if you think you are going to look at them all, START WITH THIS ONE. I include a bit of narrative on most of the pages and there are a few links to more info scattered here and there, but as you will no doubt notice, I'm a bit unfocused. The emphasis for now is on the historical and geological or ecological aspects of my journey rather than the bike trip stuff. Neither approach tells the whole story though, so I'll be thinking about ways to incorporate more yammering without cluttering up the site too much. Here are a few notes on the bike and the logistics of this trip. |
* I did not always follow the trail exactly.
